Letter from the Jordan family

September 13, 2004
We moved back to Utah four months ago, from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, with feelings of renewed hope. Jenny had been battling cancer for the past two years. She was able to fight her Acute Mylogeneous Leukemia into remission, and have a life threatening tumor removed from her brain. As you could expect, we wanted nothing more than to rebuild our lives. Unfortunately, life throws its hardest punches when least expected. For this reason, Jenny and I now find ourselves having to ask for your help.
Our feelings of relief were interrupted when the pituitary tumor returned last month. If not removed, it could deteriorate Jenny's eyesight, even to the point of blindness. Equally terrifying, the tumor could become malignant brain cancer. Matters could become especially messy while fighting the tumor, because without the most immediate care, it could interrupt Jenny's other vital treatments against AML. She could come out of remission, and then have to start the entire war all over again.
The procedure that will remove the tumor is called Stereotactic Radiosurgery. Just as Jenny's time of triumph over this struggle is threatened by a shadow of ill tidings, we hope she will be blessed with the good fortune needed to see this battle to a successful end. Jenny's life hinges on the urgency of the situation, despite the absence of guarantees. Please respond to our need.
